How it works

From a short application to a clearer plan.

Four steps. Your address is requested only on the secure application, never in a page URL.

Start the application
1

Start with your ZIP

Check whether your community is within the current DFW review area without sharing a full address.

2

Complete the secure application

Provide the property address and a few details about HVAC, windows, comfort, provider, and average bill.

3

Eligibility review

Our team reviews the property and application against current audit requirements.

4

Schedule the audit

If the home is eligible, we contact you to discuss next steps and appointment availability.

First five minutes

Is it the rate, or is it the house?

A high bill alone cannot prove you need a new HVAC system, insulation, or windows. Compare this bill with the same month last year to separate price from usage before replacing anything.

Example values shown. Replace them with numbers from your own statements. Billing-day count, pool pumps, EV charging, and occupancy changes also move the total.

Your read

Usage is doing most of the work.

Your home used noticeably more electricity than the same month last year. That is the pattern where a whole-home assessment is most useful.

Next step: note thermostat, occupancy, pool, or EV changes. If usage rose without an obvious explanation, evaluate the home.

Common questions

Know what to expect before you apply.

What is a complimentary home energy-efficiency audit?
It is an educational assessment designed to help eligible homeowners understand conditions that may be contributing to high electricity usage, high bills, or comfort problems. The audit does not guarantee savings, replacement work, or program approval.
Is every home eligible for a complimentary audit?
No. Complimentary audits are available in select service and grid areas and may depend on the home, current usage, scheduling availability, and applicable program requirements. Submitting an application requests an eligibility review.
What does the assessment look at?
Depending on the home, the assessment may review HVAC age and performance, attic insulation, common air-leakage concerns, windows, water-heating equipment, and visible electrical-upgrade needs.
Does an audit mean I qualify for free equipment?
No. The audit helps identify possible issues and determine whether relevant incentives, financing, or efficiency programs may be available. Eligibility and project terms must be reviewed separately before any work is approved.
How long does the process take?
The first step is a short online application. If the property appears to meet the current review criteria, a team member will contact you to discuss the home and available appointment times. The on-site timeline depends on the home and the items being reviewed.
Where does Evergreen Home Efficiency serve?
Evergreen Home Efficiency serves homeowners throughout Dallas–Fort Worth and select surrounding grid areas. Address eligibility is confirmed during the application review.
